Autumn’s asters (eight species) and goldenrods (fourteen species) are lighting up the Quarry Gardens landscape where poor, drv soil and all-day sun are just right for these prairie plants. Drew Chaney of the Center for Urban Habitats made the featured image in late September. Saturday mornings, October 8, 15, 22, and 29, weather permitting, one of the QGs’ founders will guide a walk along the main trails. Sign up at quarrygardensatschuyler.org/visit.
