This walk will be led by Forrest McQuire, naturalist, storyteller, and Quarry Gardens property manager, who will introduce the project in the Visitor Center before setting out to visit the soapstone mining artifacts and native plant communities along the main trail. Despite the predations of deer this year, there should be an abundance of Mountain mint, Partridge pea, Goldenrods, Passionflower, Mistflower, Spotted beebalm, Thoroughwort, Joe Pye weed, and many others.
Bring a picnic and enjoy it in the pavilion.
