Saturday Morning Trail Walk

This walk will be led by either Armand or Bernice Thieblot, QGs’ co-owners. We’ll gather in the Visitor Center for a brief introduction to the project and the local history of soapstone mining, then follow the main trail around the two quarry pools.

Among the plant communities, look for Butterflyweed, Thimbleweed, Pickerel weed, New England aster, Partridge pea, Spadderdock, Striped wintergreen,  Flowering spurge, Woodland sunflower, Spotted beebalm, White waterlily, Quill fameflower, Swamp rose, Purple flowering raspberry, Rose pink, Upland ironweed, Cranefly orchid, four species of Mountainmint, Swamp rose, Carolina wild petunia, Lizard’s tail, Early goldenrods, and many others. With more than 650 native species, surely something will be in bloom!

Consider bringing a lunch to enjoy in our picnic pavilion.
