Salamander Hunt with Chris Asquith

An environmental educator, Chris grew up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains (the Salamander Capital of the World). Join him on a hunt through the wetlands and vernal pools that surround the Quarry Gardens.

Among those to keep an eye out for: Dusky salamander, Seal salamander, Two-lined salamander, Three-lined salamander, Eastern newt, Red-backed salamander, and Red salamander.

Waterproof shoes suggested but not required. We’ll go unless there is heavy rain.
