Armand Thieblot, co-owner of the Quarry Gardens, will lead this tour. In the Visitor Center, he will introduce the QGs project and the history of soapstone mining. Then, he will lead a walk along the main trail around the quarries where may found Wild columbine, False indigos, Mountain mints, Goatsbeard, Coreopsis, Fleabanes, Dwarf larkspurs, Fringe tree, Wild hydrangea, Spiked lobelia, Carolina rose, Coral honeysuckle, Spadderdock, Eastern prickly pear, Beardtongues, and many other spring bloomers.
The tour will take about two hours. You’re welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy it in our picnic pavilion.
