Morning Trail Walk with Armand

Armand Thieblot, co-owner of the Quarry Gardens, will lead this tour. In the Visitor Center, he will introduce the QGs project and the history of soapstone mining. Then, he will lead a walk along the main trail around the quarries where may found Pickerel weed, New England aster, Thimbleweed, Butterflyweed, Tick trefoil, Shrubby St. John’s wort, Mountain mints, Carolina rose, Milkweeds, Coreopsis, Flowering spurge, Wild hydrangea, Beebalm, Wild bergamot, White water lily, Purple-flowering raspberry, Wild petunia, Black snakeroot, Lizards’ tail, Hyssop skullcap, Arrowwood viburnum, and many other late spring bloomers.

The tour will take about two hours. You’re welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy it in our picnic pavilion.
